Reader Raves

"Not sure if we’ve met in person but I feel like we are twins separated at birth. I raised my son as a single mom in Travis Heights, waiting on tables at Mag South to pay the bills. ... Anyway, just wanted to say THANK YOU. I freaking LOVE your book and I will soon be buying many to give to all the friends I know who will also freak out."

-- Spike Gillespie

"I just finished your memoir of 1970s Austin. What a sweet tribute to the place that was and the experiences many women had in our early careers. So much to relate to! For every woman who has done the best she can to overcome decisions of our parents and ourselves, your book is a gift of acceptance and a testament to the power of eventual self-love."

     -- Susan Patten

"Enjoyed it very much!  You've had challenging and rewarding life experiences which are reflected in your book.  Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

I hope you consider authoring another book in the future. -- Carl S.

Story of Texas Writer Gal

Terri Schexnayder found her passion for writing when she was a young girl, creating neighborhood plays and short stories. She continued to communicate effectively through the written word during her 30-plus years in advertising, helping corporate, nonprofit and state clients. These included hundreds of press releases, speeches, educational training booklets, and even radio and TV copy while leading the phenomenally successful "Don't Mess with Texas" anti-litter campaign. Her articles have appeared in Austin Woman, Kirkus Reviews, Texas Highways and Texas Coop Power magazines and in various regional publications.

"It is my privilege to write this enthusiastic letter of recommendation in support of Terri Schexnayder. Ms. Schexnayder is the sole reason that the book in celebration of our theatre’s centennial, A Majestic History: 100 Years at the Paramount Theatre, will be published in 2019. From the inception of the book project in 2013/14, she has astutely, skillfully and passionately led our team through ideation, conceptualization, extensive research, narrative creation and layout production. Throughout the process she exhibited a hyper-organized approach to managing both the literary development and the many individuals at the Paramount Theatre with whom she had to coordinate and communicate. At every step, Ms. Schexnayder provided all deliverables on time and on budget. Bluntly, she did a yeoman’s job of keeping our team focused and forward moving. We are all grateful for her deft touch."
